Grab the kids and head down to Discovery Science Center in Orange County where summer family fun is in full swing. Known for its iconic, 10-story cube towering over the 5 freeway, Discovery Science Center houses over 100 hands-on exhibits dedicated to making science fun for all ages. Inside the Center, kids can play and explore throughout two floors of interactive exhibit areas featuring a giant pin wall, bed of nails, virtual volleyball and a simulated rocket launch inside the giant cube! Special for summer, Discovery Science Center has two new exhibitions: The Adventures of Mr. Potato Head and WaterWorks: Soak Up the Science. The much-loved Mr. Potato Head character will lead young visitors and parents on a number of fun and educational adventures. From trips to outer space to jungle safaris and archeological digs, each activity will provide children with engaging learning experiences. Plus, kids can meet Mr. Potato Head himself on select weekends and dates! WaterWorks: Soak Up the Science explores H20 from A2Z. This exhibit immerses visitors in stimulating, hands-on learning experiences that bring home the playful, powerful and precious world of water. Discovery Science Center also has a new stage show, “H 2 WOW,” as a fun extension to WaterWorks. Mr. Potato Head and WaterWorks are both included in general admission to the Science Center and are open through September 11. Also special for summer, Southern California adults pay the kid’s price of just $12.95! Annual family memberships are also a great deal at only $99 for a family of six. Discovery Science Center is a great, affordable way to entertain the kids for a day while escaping the summer heat. Discovery Science Center is conveniently located at 2500 N. Main St where the 5 and 57 freeways meet in Santa Ana. Hours are 10am to 5pm, daily. Visit www.discoverycube.org for tickets, directions and more information.
